It creates an overcomplicated explanation for something that has a much simpler explanation. That's because that comment is entirely baseless conjecture. The situation w/ Danse is not really comparable, as he never knew he was a synth and when he found out it destroyed his life, robbing him of everything he'd ever known or cared about - of course he has no love for the Institute. Another big clue that it's an aberration/errant code is that one of Curie's few "hated" actions is destroying the Railroad, but you can slaughter the Brotherhood and she's fine with it, and one of her "loved" actions is defending the idea of freedom for synths when you first meet the Railroad, suggesting that she does in fact support their cause. The only other companions who dislike doing Railroad missions are from opposing factions (and one of the two of them, X6-88, can't even be brought to Railroad HQ w/o turning the entire faction hostile). Even if Curie didn't actively support the ideology of the Railroad, freedom for synths, despite being a free synth, and despite their integral role (Amari also being a Railroad operative) in the miraculous gift of life that allowed her to experience emotions and feel love, that wouldn't be a strong enough reason for her to lose affinity when you do missions for them. Empathy is within her reach but the deduction of morals and philosophy might not be. ![]() So yeah, she might have it in her programming to like the Institute, but Railroad. my sensors are malfunctioning, I think I heard you say yes. For example, when you first meet her, try to refuse her trying to come along with you. The Institute made Paladin Danse and gave him his body, does that mean Danse loves the Institute, despite it being one degree of connection?Ĭurie may have a goody-goody two shoes exterior, but that doesn't means she personally ascribes to the moral high horse of the Railroad. Sure the Railroad gave her the body, but it was really like a "friend of a friend of a friend" mechanism. She's only a Synth because it's the only thing that was compatible with her robot pathways. In fact, Curie would ditch her Synth body at a moment's notice if she could become fully human. The Railroad kills humans to saves synths. They are not human, her programming on the hippocratic oath does not apply to them. But I still think she has no reason to align with the Railroad.Īlthough she is in a Synth body, she has no reason to be sympathetic to synths. I agree that Curie liking the Institute is plausible and that in some ways, it makes more sense than the Brotherhood. In a title, if your post contains spoilers, begin your title with.
